About the data

TapWaterPro is an independent guide to public drinking water records. All system facts and violations come from the U.S. EPA Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS/Fed), downloaded from the EPA Envirofacts API (data.epa.gov/efservice) on October 30, 2026. The latest compliance period in this download began 2026-06-30. States report to EPA quarterly, so recent events may not appear yet. Towns are the primary city served listed by EPA. Nothing here is a test of your own tap.

How record status works

Each system's status comes only from EPA SDWIS violation records, counting health-based violations (over a legal limit, or a required treatment step not met) whose compliance period began in 2016 or later:

Record status (EPA health-based violations since 2016): ✓Clean record none · •Some issues 1–2, all resolved · !Repeated issues 3 or more · !Unresolved health issue one not yet marked resolved. Paperwork-only violations do not change the status. Details

Monitoring, reporting and notice violations are shown on every page but do not change the status. A status is not a test of your water and does not mean water is safe or unsafe today; it summarizes the record EPA has received from the state.
