The Lead Action Level Explained

The lead action level is 0.015 mg/L (15 ppb) at the 90th percentile of home tap samples. Exceeding it triggers steps like corrosion control, public education and line replacement. Under the 2024 Lead and Copper Rule Improvements it drops to 0.010 mg/L, with compliance starting in 2027.
